I’ve been riding horses since I was five years old. I just liked everything about it. So I learned from all kinds of people everything I could, what worked and what didn’t.

Eventually I showed horses for a long time on the Appaloosa circuit. I loved it and did very well. But my real passion was trail riding. So I started a guided trail riding business which I operated successfully for over 20 years.

I’ve ridden in Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, North & South Dakota, but I always come back to the Black Hills. For me it’s a magical place.

I have been a guest at Hay Creek Ranch for many years. The best horse camp in all of South Dakota. And now it’s my honor to continue that.

I got my first pony at age eight and started riding. Trial by fire. No idea what I was doing. But I was blindly in love with all things equine.

I showed in the 4H and WSCA circuits for ten years. Over the past ten years I’ve focused on trail riding and developing really good solid trail mounts.

My first riding trip to Hay Creek and the Black hills was with Willie five years ago. I fell in love with the ranch and the area and knew that’s where my heart belonged.

In the last five years we have made a dozen trips out to the Black Hills and extensively explored the area on horseback.
